Korea visa & entry requirements
Planning a trip to Korea? Here’s what you need to know about visa exemptions, K-ETA, and entry requirements!
Visa-Free Entry
Korea offers visa-free entry for many nationalities under K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization) or visa-free agreements.
•
Citizens from the U.S., Canada, most European countries, and several others can stay in Korea for up to 90 days without a visa.
•
Some countries have different stay durations, so check in advance!
K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)
Even if you’re from a visa-free country, you might still need a K-ETA before departure!
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (MOFA)
If you need to stay in Korea for more than 90 days for plastic surgery or other medical treatments, you can temporarily leave the country and re-enter to reset your stay duration. Same-day departure and re-entry are allowed, meaning you can leave Korea and return on the same day without issues. However, ensure that your visa or K-ETA status remains valid before re-entering.
For longer stays, you may also consider applying for a Medical Tourism Visa (C-3-3), which allows for an extended stay depending on the treatment duration. Always check the latest immigration regulations to avoid any unexpected issues.
